Rosen’s Snake
A medium-sized (to 65 cm) venomous snake with a python-like pattern and distinctly unusual bulging eyes. Active at night. Individuals illustrated below from southern population, although quite variable, many are very pale. The Pilbara population is often dark reddish-brown in colour.

Bite site swabs of venom from this species have given false positive for taipan in venom detection kit, although typical symptoms are usually local with extreme swelling common in victims.
