(including special notifications and submissions)
WASAH (Western Australian Society of Amateur Herpetologists) was incorporated in 1990 to lobby the WA Government for a reptile and amphibian pet keeping system to be established in this state - it took 13 years until 2003, but eventually a system was installed. It may not be what we originally wanted, but it was a start.
You can now read the society’s newsletters, press releases and special members' notifications published during that epic battle with the WA wildlife authority, which was known as the Western Australian Department of Conservation and Land Management (CALM) at the time, to eventually succeed in our endeavours! The society was replaced by WAHS (WA Herpetologists Society) shortly after our success.
